Gaia's Ichor
Gaia's Ichor, or simply ichor, is a dark, greenish-yellow liquid found in small deposits in the planet's crust. It is one of the only known compounds containing Celestium.
Properties
- Melting Point: -45 °C
- Ignition temperature: 275 °C
- Density: 19 g/cm^3
In its pure, liquid form, it has a mirror-like shine. It is a sickly greenish-yellow color. It is a dense, thin liquid, with extraordinary surface tension.
Ichor is a highly flamable element in its pure form. It will combust explosively in open air and, when exposed to a silver catalyst, decompose energetically. It is mostly harmless when impure. When diluted to 90% purity with water, dirt, or other addatives, it will no longer combust.
Mining
Ichor is found close to the surface in crater basins.
Industry
Alexander Maxwell possesses a monopolistic hold on Ichor mining and distribution.
Application
Ichor's reactive nature makes it useful as a power source and an oxidizer for crude explosives. It is also added to low carbon steel to make ichorized steel alloys.
