Etrusian Sea
The Etrusian Sea is a series of coastal waterways in the southern coast of Niera. It flows into the Sea of Blood. It is named for the Etrusian Empire, which controlled the land surrounding the sea between the 5th and 20th centuries SE. The surrounding drainage basin defines the Etrusian Sea Region.
Geography
The Etrusian Sea was formed when the right edge of the Silian plate broke apart, creating deep ridges which filled with ocean water from the Sea of Blood. Its major bodies of water are Jaricova Sound, the Strait of Dameria, Coldwater Strait, and Jacob's Bay.
Jaricova Sound
Jaricova Sound is a sound along the southern coast of Niera. It is the northern most part of the Etrusian Sea. Its primary tributaries are the Vinell, Haverund, and Zora River and
Strait of Dameria
The Strait of Dameria is the southwestern arm of the Etrusian Sea.
Imonath Bay
Imonath Bay sits along the western edge of the Strait of Dameria. It is fed by the Vician River. Goroth is its largest coastal city.
Coldwater Strait
The Coldwater Strait separates Kings Isle on the west from continental Niera on the east. A narrow point in this waterway, Greyrock Strait, played a crucial role in land and sea trade routes in the area because of The Granite Pass, a bridge connecting Drymoor with Kings Isle, before it was destroyed in 4517.
Jacob's Bay
Jacob's Bay is a large expanse within the Etrusian Sea. It is fed by Jaricova Sound and ends at Kings Isle where it splits in two, becoming the Strait of Dameria in the west and Coldwater Strait in the east.
