Shelter
Shelters are large underground bunkers created during the Serenian War by survivalist groups to protect against the ongoing warfare and ensuing fallout. These structures were usually vast networks of tunnels connecting small rooms, designed to minimize construction time and maximize blast resistance. Many of these bunkers survived the Great Dark and remain abandoned, with the inhabitants eventually leaving or dying due to exhausted supplies. Due to fears of scavenging in later years, many were fortified with traps or had their entrances hidden. Because of this, many known shelters have not yet been explored and some may still remain to be discovered. Shelter diving is a high-risk, high-reward occupation for adventurers, as those who survive the traps and collapsing architecture often recover technology from the late First Era, including powerful weapons or magic items.

Explored Shelters
- Shallowell - The first recorded shelter ever discovered, uncovered by the Kyrintheans in the late first century SE. Initially presumed to be a cave, nothing of value or importance was reported found.
- Bloodspill Cavern - The first shelter found with traps. It was uncovered in 483 by an exploration party organized by Gustanfon the Righteous. Most of the explorers, including the leader and Gustanfon's son, Pardrof the Wise, were killed by a spike trap at the entrance to the cave. It was later fully delved in 512 by a group of Etrusian explorers.
